One-Stop Resource Serves Seniors, Families

NextAge Mississippi® was developed and is operated by Mississippi Methodist Senior Services, Inc. as a “one-stop resource” serving seniors 62 and older. NextAge Mississippi® provides information, support, services, and relationships to older Mississippians and their families as they grow and live into Elderhood — their next age.

Our Mission

NextAge Mississippi’s mission aligns with Methodist Senior Services’ mission to serve older adults in the spirit of Christian love. We want to provide support to Elders and to promote independence for those who live at home and in retirement communities. We want to change the negative mindset of “old age” into looking forward to becoming the Next Age.

What we Strive for

Information, resources, and support for seniors are difficult to find. NextAge Mississippi® is changing this paradigm by:
  • Helping eliminate ageism that devalues older adults through a system of Senior/Elder support, intergenerational connections and learning opportunities.
  • Providing vetted and certified information and support for seniors and their families to encourage their continued growth, autonomy, and independence.
  • Helping seniors navigate the maze of networks/medical systems for resources and support.
  • Helping seniors grow and live into the best times of their lives, supported with what they need and relationships for rich and meaningful lives in the homes of their choice.

  • Home Services: Traceway At Home and Meals on Wheels of Lee County

NextAge Mississippi® has compiled a list of providers and their contact information to make exploring the Medical System easier for Seniors. The Navigation page will provide information on Medicare, Medicaid, the VA and gives information on reporting Medicare/Medicaid Fraud and Elder Abuse.

NextAge Mississippi® offers at-home handyman and housekeeping services for seniors from our Traceway campus, which serves Elders in Lee County.

Handyman – Let us take care of your minor home maintenance with our trusted handymen with work ranging from light replacement and leaky faucets to minor yard maintenance.

Examples of Services:

INDOOR – Leaky faucet repair, Grab bar installation, Minor painting, Light replacement and Minor Construction;

OUTDOOR – Lawn Care, Gutter Maintenance, Gardening, Pressure Washing, Deck Sealing and Insecticide Treatment

Standard rate: $50/hour ($75/hours for jobs requiring 2 men)

Housekeeping Standard Cleaning: $25/hour

Emergency Response System

MSS offers the CareLink® Personal Emergency Response/Medical Alert System to seniors living in the communities surrounding our 12 senior living campuses. These personal alert systems may be installed in an Elder’s home. The service is billed monthly, and there’s no long-term contract.
