Aldersgate Campus Adds New Trees

5/12/2010 - Dr. Felix Sutphin doesn't describe himself as a tree-hugger, but he does love trees, and he decided to celebrate Arbor Day by helping to beautify the Aldersgate campus with some hazelnut tree seedlings that have been planted on the eastside courtyard entrance, on the hill between the Azalea and Bayberry buildings. {more}

Mary & LeRoy Smith: Four Lessons of Aging

LeRoy Smith was a blind Methodist preacher married to Mary, who had Lou Gehrig's disease (ALS). May is Older Americans Month. A time to recognize the aging process - and the older role models that we all know and admire - like Leroy and Mary. LeRoy and Mary taught me four life-long, valuable lessons.

Aldersgate’s Crown of Splendor

7/1/2009 - UPDATE: The dedication ceremony for “Crown of Splendor” was held on August 25, 2009.  The four artists unveiled this beautiful horse to the delight of residents and guests.  “Crown of Splendor” will be permanently placed by the Aldersgate sign on Poplar Springs Drive.  The horse will be part of Meridian’s “Around Town Carousels Abound” collection.  To date, more than 60 horses have been placed as part of this collection.   {more}

5/13/2009 - Martha Coker Home was the first nursing home licensed in the state of Mississippi. Its 1962 traditional facility has been replaced with new buildings that reflect the next generation of nursing home care. {more}
