On Thursday, February 8, 2018, Wesley Meadows held a Tea Party to raise funds for the Wesley Meadows Green House® Capital Campaign. Jenny and Ginger Gartrell organized and hosted the party for Wesley Meadows. Both ladies were amazing and put on quite a show with a three course tea. Ginger prepared a variety of finger sandwiches for guests to enjoy as well as delicious scones with fruit and decadent desserts. During each course, Jenny discussed the tea culture, the history and origins of tea, proper serving techniques and all sorts of things that proved to be both entertaining and educational.

During the presentation, Jenny gave a personal testimony about how good the Wesley Meadows' team was to her "Grandma Mac" (McIngvale). She shared she is honored to serve on the board and that it is the best board she's ever been affiliated with. "When the Board was challenged to find their own special way to help raise money for the Wesley Meadows Green House® Capital Campaign, I knew holding a tea would be perfect for me," said Gartrell. "I love sharing my passion for teas and its a unique way to introduce others to Wesley Meadows and its ministry ."

Every seat in the newly constructed Fellowship Center was full and the room volume was pretty loud. It was clear the guests were enjoying themselves. Near the end of the event, the MSS staff presented the new Green House® video which tells of the Green House® origins, its unique concept and how MSS is implementing this model on campuses statewide. The presentation made quite an impact and was very helpful in explaining what the Board of Directors desires to build.

The event raised over $2,500, but mostly it created a much greater understanding of the need for dedicated memory support services in Hernando and an awareness of how Wesley Meadows is planning to meet that need.
